This was a gift for our son in-law and he said it was a great tool and will use it a lot. First time he used it was for bowl carving out of log cuts. Super Great.
Been wanting to try one of these for a while now, and with a fun new project coming up (hopefully) i decided to get one these to test. I LOVE IT! What i've done with it is not complex at all, very easy stuff, but such great results.
I purchased this to try and use as an additional tool for spoon carving. So far it works for me. I use it after I start carving the bowl. I get the bowl shaped just enough with small gouges then I use the burr to hog out enough material to allow me to get the larger gouges and hook knife in to complete the depth of the bowl. I have it chucked in my drill press.
was very efficient at removing lots of material quickly, was easy to clean with a stiff brush, slightly coarse finish, but easy to sand down.
As a artist and a woodworker I'm constantly looking for tools that will allow me the ability to do higher quality and more detailed woodwork , and this is an awesome tool ! what a great finishing!!!
